The European Society of Optometry (SOE) is a universalist and transnational organization. Its headquarters are in Brussels, crossroads of Europe and there are no national sections.

The main goal of the European Society of Optometry is the recognition of a free and independent profession. Through its professional post-graduate activities (Continuing Education Courses in Optometry) it works towards the recognition of the position achieved by those professionals who can prove their continuous updating.
