Invitation for Membership

In 1996 a number of Behavioral organizations meet to discuss how they could better improve communication between and support for one another.  IFBO has been formed with the goal of fostering communication and co-operation between the various organizations that are committed to Behavioral Vision Care.  Ultimately this will enable us to efficiently share information, better utilize our resources and promote the worldwide development of Behavioural Vision Care.

 The federation members include:

The Australasian College of Behavioural Optometry (ACBO) http://www.acbo.org.au

The College of Optometrist in Visual Development (COVD) http://www.covd.org

Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEP) http://www.oep.org

The European Society of Optometry (SOE) www.soe-optometry.org

I now extend the invitation to you to join us in striving to achieve universal goals as set out in the enclosed information.

Membership Criteria

1.      Only not-for-profit, non-discriminatory organizations may join IFBO.  No provisions are made for individual membership.  Documents detailing the governance, including membership criteria, of the organization must be submitted with the application for IFBO membership.

2.      Applicant must agree to support by the Mission, Goals and Objects of the Federation and abide by the IFBO Constitution and By-Laws.  [Copies included with application]

3.      The official language of the Federation is English.  No provisions will be made to translate Federation information into other languages.

4.      There are no restrictions in membership in IFBO based on sex, race, religion or national origin. No organization that restricts membership on these factors will be admitted to IFBO.

5.      Pay Annual membership fee on a timely basis.  Membership is currently $US200 per year.
